How is everyone working out these days? Icy are you still doing Convict Conditioning? I'm curious if you have a philosophy for working out as well as a workout philosophy.

Yeah still doing CC. I actually have an "ultimate fitness essay" I am working on. Haven't decided if it will be part of the PUA book or if I am gonna put it in a new site. I don't believe that CC is the best workout method. Or Starting Strength, or any other method for that matter. I believe that the best workout method depends on what "stat" you're trying to max out, as in a videogame. But, up to a point, you can raise all stats simultaneously. Once you reach that point, then any increase in one stat decreases all the others, again as in a videogame. This point of "ultimate overall fitness" can only be reached via CC (for reasons I'll be explaining), but beyond that point you need to switch from CC to something else. None of this is explained in CC or SS, or in any other fitness book I've ever read. Every fitness book says that it's the best fitness technique, and all others are inferior. CC says weights suck, and SS says bodyweight sucks. Their understanding of how fitness works is at a very basic level, kinda like the PUAs' understanding of sexual and social relations and psychology. At first sight all their claims seem reasonable, but if you spend a bit thinking about them you see that most of it is skin-deep bullshit.

E.g. CC says that the Spartans didn't use weights and drugs. But motherfucker, that's because they didn't have them lol. If the Spartans had had weights and drugs they'd be feeding them to children and lugging barbells along with them in every expedition. But that moron thinks Spartans would stop at pull-ups lol. You understand fuck-all about Spartans if you think their adherence to bodyweight training was a choice as opposed to a necessity. And so it is with everything CC and SS and everyone else claims.

Ironically, you got me hooked on Life is Feudal so your analogy rings truer than it might have normally. I'm taking off time from building my fief just to write this... probably a good thing. I look forward to the essay... but I'm looking for a reason to work out. It seems your reason is 'ultimate overall fitness.' Is it that anyone who is 'life affirming' should be working out and extending their life span (even if they aren't afraid to perish)? I say this and I have been into fitness, well, bodybuilding for a long time, often working out one to one-and-a-half hours per day, five days per week (however not during lockdown). In this case, working out on 'strength' takes away from everything else.

But it is like you said: every fitness program is superior to others, and further, every fat ass and out of shape person you meet has an opinion. If people ask me my opinions on working out, I generally shut down, otherwise I'll get into some debate about water, or running for God's sake, with someone who clearly hasn't lifted consistently in their entire life.

You also got me to watch Shot Caller. The protagonist in that movie had to start working out because his life literally depended on it (and maybe because what else does one do in prison). Even as I write this, I feel I am going to get reamed out because I am not imposing my fitness will on the world, lol.

This is parody stuff. I am not even going to respond.

Never said anything like this. It doesn't even make any sense. I said that every fitness guru says that his program is superior to everyone else's.

A thread on workout routines is not the place to talk about "imposing wills". What you're doing is comical. You sound like a retarded person. Being unable to figure out the difference between simple everyday matters like working out and philosophical books and arguments shows you haven't understood the latter and are struggling to deal with the former. Try to avoid this shit in here please because it is depressing for me to see it. And also avoid arguing with me about it because I have better things to do. Stick with the fucking subject of your fucking thread.
