Male Privilege: Picking up the ball that Roosh dropped and running with it

Sun May 26, 2019 12:52 am

This is the thread for all discussion on the new male-centered forum, Male Privilege.

I will start this off by quoting my friend alphacentauri from RVF:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-7325 ... pid1984650
alphacentauri wrote:The reason RVF towers head and shoulders above other PUA forums is that IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT PICK-UP.

You NEED the Lifestyle and Everything Else forums to foster good PUAs, because it's in the forge of these other forums that the solid man is built, for whom it is then easy to become a good PUA. While in the other PUA forums you just have stupid PUA tricks and one-dimensional players and incels.

So it's a mistake to think that you can take the Game/Travel forums from here and move them somewhere else. You will fail to recreate the RVF experience.

RVF is an all-or-nothing formula. So when Roosh says, "take the Game/Travel material and continue it somewhere else, but don't try to supplant RVF wholesale", he is setting up his successor for failure...

I've already said I respect Roosh massively, but the above criticism of his handling of the situation is blindingly obvious to me, so I couldn't hold my tongue... If I have sinned, forgive me for it.
https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-7328 ... pid1984651
alphacentauri wrote:This thread should be two threads.

Because blog and forum are two vastly different things.

In the blog you have a dude preaching his stuff.

In the forum you have hundreds.

The magic of RVF was precisely those hundreds of people. The synergistic effect. No amount of blogs can replace that.

There is nothing even remotely close to RVF in existence.

And then, one fine day, the word "sin" became the banner under which the forum will be ran...

And I quote Nietzsche:

“Doubt as sin. — Christianity has done its utmost to close the circle and declared even doubt to be sin. One is supposed to be cast into belief without reason, by a miracle, and from then on to swim in it as in the brightest and least ambiguous of elements: even a glance towards land, even the thought that one perhaps exists for something else as well as swimming, even the slightest impulse of our amphibious nature — is sin! And notice that all this means that the foundation of belief and all reflection on its origin is likewise excluded as sinful. What is wanted are blindness and intoxication and an eternal song over the waves in which reason has drowned.”

The concept of sin "drowns reason"...

And thus reason fled the RVF community... the last great community of rational males on the planet...
The above summarizes my view of the situation.

RVF is about to turn into an insane asylum: nothing more, and nothing less. That's what happens when leaders experience mental breakdowns. People will be walking on eggshells all over the place to avoid setting off the "SIN!" lightbulb in Roosh's head, and indeed a bunch of them have already been banned for doing so. The level of discourse will nosedive within days, and a month from now the place will be unrecognizable. People are already making threads with titles such as "Immaculate Conception". I kid you not: https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-73263.html

This is Clown World material. Roosh's forum is now officially part of Clown World. A month from now we will be scrolling down the forums and taking screencaps to post in a new Clown World thread over here. It is a real tragicomedy what's happening over there.

That's my opinion, and that's why I am starting this place.

And every sane male is welcome to join me.

IMHO, This forum software needs a LIKE plugin the way rooshvforum had.

Shame this was necessary.

Thanks for making a new home for those who don't feel comfortable at Roosh any longer.

Nice job in setting up an alternative board here, to get away from the recent big change in the RVF forum. Really appreciate the efforts you guys have done here! :)

However, I think that it'll be a big pity if our already small (but brilliant) community gets dispersed into separate and tiny pockets of discussions in echo-chambers. It's easy to setup a discussion board, the much larger tasks lies in maintaining it, convincing members and great posters to join and ultimately, moderating it and keeping the crazies and trolls out.

Anyway, not going to take away from the brilliant job that you guys have done here, given the short time. But there's an alternative community (and growing list of ex-RVFers here): https://swooptheworld.com/forum. It has a rep system in place etc.

What's more important is that posters like: 262, Rhyme or Reason, Vinny, CleanSlate, Mercenary, Off The Reservation, Rhyme or Reason, Rottenapple, Globalman, etc have already signed on there, and I suspect more to come in the coming months. It's owned by 20Nations, who's one of us.

So rather than split the community further, it would be best to consolidate posters who disagree with the new direction of the forum into one that already has the features and critical mass. Thoughts?
I was not aware of that forum, but straight off the bat, the name "Swoop the World" lacks the seriousness I would prefer from a general male forum. I can see that they have copied Roosh's forum structure over there, but the name sounds like a pure PUA forum, and not a particularly mature one either.

You are right that scattering the community must be avoided, as much as possible. But, at the same time, the forum leadership is critical to the long-term health of the forum. I don't know 20Nations, but I do know myself, and I believe I can do as good a job as Roosh in his prime, and indeed better. So I will continue with this forum, and see how far I can get, and people will have two places to choose from. And, in the long run, the best one will prevail.

Also, let me remind you that the reason Roosh's forum became so dominant was that Roosh was not just some random forum admin: he was a prominent Game theorist, with a bunch of books under his belt. And I just published the first chapters of what I believe will be the best Game book of all time when it's finished: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2

So I believe I have the theoretical and practical and administrative skills, not merely to continue Roosh's legacy, but to even improve on it.

Can 20Nations say the same?

If so, awesome. We'll know in a few months' time, and then I will shut this place down and move over there and direct all the users here to join me.

But until then, let's foster some healthy, friendly competition between us, to see who can do the better job, and the community can ultimately only benefit from this competition.

Apologies for posting in the wrong thread earlier.

Anyway, excellent response! Healthy, friendly competition can only be good, and good that you are confident that you can pull this off.

However it would be good for us to keep it healthy and avoid all the forum wars and rivalry which can easily erupt and split the community further. We should remember the end goal ultimately, which is to create better, masculine versions of ourselves and in the process share that knowledge with others and a strong and sane community (that does not devolve into extremism, non-tolerance, censorship or the banning of certain phrases or words -- staring to sound like some other libtards?) helps that.

Won't be able to contribute much time unfortunately, but would be dropping by time to time and all the best wishes to you and your team here!

I was a casual observer at best, but as soon as I saw that thread on the new rules I thought he'd gone off the deep end. I respect the man for his contribution to the manosphere. It's an undeniable thing that he's brought good men together. The problem is that men's issues stretch past the limited morality that is the religious endorsement of specific behavior. I'm a married man with kids and even I benefit from seeing other men going through what I did once or might someday experience. We all need to know that perspective.

No discussion of fornication or adultery? That's not going to stop people from doing it. It'll just push the discussion to another place.

I'm happy for Roosh. If he wants to walk away from such a significant percentage of men, that's his prerogative.

I will do all I can to keep the rivalry friendly and healthy. As proof, I just made an account over there, and made a post in their Roosh thread, plus a new thread:

https://swooptheworld.com/forum/showthr ... 62#pid8162
https://swooptheworld.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=684

In the first post I try to explain to them that their dislike of political discussion will have a detrimental impact on the quality of their forum, and in the second post I tell them about my new game book.

I will be following all three forums for the foreseeable future: mine, theirs, and Roosh's, until one of the three comes clear ahead of the others, and then I will restrict my attention to that. Let's give it some time and see how it turns out.

Thanks for the PM invite to this forum.

I respect Roosh's transition to Christianity. However religion is a personal journey, it can't be forced upon others. Not everyone is in the stage of their life where they are looking for deeper meaning.

So I signed up for this forum. Will also lurk at SwoopTheWorld, but the branding here seem a bit more mature.

My only recommendation is to get an HTTPS certificate. Looking forward to seeing more people from RVF.

Hey, I was banned from Roosh V Forum a couple of years ago for "harrassment." I did no such thing, and my forum behavior was exemplary since I am ZFG about online pissing contests, but as with a lot of people at various times I was caught in a purge. I was never much of a forum guy, but when I was linked here, what I saw appeared to be quality so I'm willing to give it a shot.

My three greatest masculinity influences (after my father) were Jack Donovan, David Deida, and the old mythopoetic men's movement, all for very different reasons (clearly) and different contributions.

I hope that the Roosh breakdown scattering can result in a kind of "clearing out" and the emergence of new leadership and fresh thinking. He was definitely an icon.

Hello Gentlemen - I figured I would check this place out and evaluate if it is right for me as well.

I'm not a huge fan of politics. I believe Trump's presidency created many trolls in RVF that latched on to right wing philosophy to cloak their own insecurities as men. I do not believe political affiliations are congruent with masculinity. These discussions took the forum away from game. I hope that does not happen here.

I also believe in people meeting in person and looking each other in the eye as men. If that is not encouraged, we can lose quality.

Looking forward to checking back in.

Thanks for starting this new forum.

I believe the importance of the topics we discuss here and formerly on RVF can’t be understated and that is it essential to continuing a thriving online community. I also agree that political discussion has to be allowed.

I want your forum to be successful and would like to offer some unsolicited advice to help it thrive. It needs a logo, some color, and the ability to like posts. A lot of people like rep even if they don’t admit it, so that will probably help as well. I honestly would be unapologetic about straight up copying RVF with a new name, logo and colors. It worked so no need to reinvent the wheel.

You make a strong case for being the best alternative to RVF and I would be happy to kick in a few bucks help this place function-- let me know. In the meantime I’ll continue to throw up a few posts a day to show my support.

Thanks again, I appreciate your effort.
I took two days off work to set everything up and get the ball rolling with 40+ posts of my own, but now I have to get back to work so improvements such as a logo, the https security certificate, the like system and so on will have to wait a bit. Keep posting your suggestions here: they are all going on a task list in order of priority, and I will get to them as soon as I can. If I need help in implementing something, I will ask here. Also, to Ludwig and to the guy who offered $20 in the other thread, no worries dudes I got it covered so far. Y'all can buy me a beer when we meet sometime.

I'm still hoping things calm down on RVF, but while I'm suspended I might as well post here. Props to you for getting the ball rolling on this though, I'd hate to see us all end up with no alternative if RVF goes to pot.

RVF is done for.

The Game forum has already turned to shit. The Travel forum is shit too now that the primary motivation for RVFers’ traveling—sex—can’t be discussed. This will necessarily screw over the Life/self-improvement forum because the main reason most RVFers took up self-improvement was to get more sex. And finally all you have left is the Everything Else forum which is already flooded with bible quotes. The forum is finished I tell you, kaput, unless Roosh does a massive 180. But if so, what will he do with all the well-meaning sane people he just banned? He’ll have to deal with quite some resentment there. So it’s possible to reverse course, but not very probable.

Which leaves Male Privilege and/or “Swoop” to pick up the pieces. So I advise everyone to go to Swoop if you want to be called an autist for having more on your mind than traveling and “swooping”, and come here if you want to support our only chance for recreating what we had on RVF, and indeed improving on it.

Interestingly, the most prominent smart people on RVF like Laner, H1N1, gework and so on have gone radio silent. They said their peace in the giant new rules thread, and then vanished. They are not posting on RVF because it’s a shitshow, nor on Swoop because it’s obviously intellectually shallow, nor here because we don’t mince words here and if they posted with their RVF usernames here Roosh would probably ban them. So they’re waiting it out to see how the dust will settle. That’s smart, but for my part what’s even smarter is reading the entire situation as I just did and then committing to act asap before the community scatters to the winds and recreating RVF becomes impossible. That’s why I got off my ass and got a domain and a host and worked hard to get this place off the ground, and that’s why I urge all of you to contribute quality material and invite over everyone you know or respect so we can generate enough momentum to save the day.

Helo everyone. You've done a fantastic job with this place, please keep it up! Male Privilege feels exactly like RVF minus the constant fear of banning, and with a super-cool mature name that makes it clear this community is no longer a cult of personality slowly sinking into religious zealotry and intolerance, but a group of mature equals freely exchanging diverse masculine viewpoints. I love it.

It wasn't you who was "harassing". For a guy who claims to dislike feminists, Roosh sure emulated their worst behavior at times: He got hormonal and, for lack of a better word, bitchy at times. I was a high-post, high-rep member who got banned in his "god pill" thread. My "crime"? When one of our most prolific, high-value posters got banned for asking if Roosh was serious about his new-found religion, I asked "was it really necessary to ban him for that". The posters question was a reasonable one; Roosh had spent the better part of 15 years fornicating his way to hell (if such a place exists). Considering all this happened around April 1, asking if he was serious or playing didn't seem like something that should get a valued contributor, who others relied upon for his wisdom, spot-banned. Well I got a PM with a SEVERE warning from Roosh and a lecture "not to criticize the mods". Well why NOT, for god's sake?? Is this like animal farm, where "all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others"? What makes us MEN, what defines us, is our reliance on LOGIC and FACTS, not giving in to waves of ever-changing feminine emotional sturm and drang. If women ran the world, we'd still be living in caves and shitting in the woods! It's MEN'S devotion to FACTS, to following empirical evidence and acknowledging when another man has built a better mousetrap, that has built the world we have today. Look around you: Every car, every skyscraper, interstate highways and bridges, airplanes, super-computers and self-learning AI - ALL of it was imagined, conceptualized, designed, engineered, built and maintained by MEN. So men have almost a spiritual calling to letting truth prevail.

But Roosh, whose soy intake must have accidentally quintupled the past few months, would get pissy and bitchy and tell people they weren't allowed to disagree with him (or his butt-boy Tuthmosis before him). Sure enough, I resonded to his PM asking if this monarchistic approach of "the emperors new clothes" was really the best choice for such a robust forum, and BAM!, I was banned too.

Not really sure what's happened to Roosh, but he is certainly self-destructing. So glad people like us who got banned when he was PMS'ing have a better place to go, a place where ideas, not a pissy overseer, reign. Keep your newly-feminized forum, Douche V; many of us like it here just fine. And if the soyness on your site keeps metastasizing, don't be surprised if more and more of your former members tell you to put on a sanitary napkin.

Deal! And in the event I haven't already said so, thank you for recreating the best parts of RVF (Which was the best men's space on the internet). I hope you'll leave out the worst parts of RVF: The heavy-handed, tyrannical, power-tripping spot-banning ("because I can"). If someone is being disruptive, two warnings then a ban seems fair (see Mills Lane). But "disagreeing with a mod" is ***NOT*** being disruptive, it's an honest difference of opinion (with someone who is on a pseudo power-trip, as if being an unpaid moderator of an internet forum conveyed real power).

The words of Lao-Tzu are worth remembering here:

"Rule a kingdom as though cooking a small fish: Don't over do it.

A leader is best when people barely know that he exists, not so good when people obey and acclaim him, worst when they despise him. Fail to honor people, They fail to honor you. But of a good leader, who talks little, when his work is done, his aims fulfilled, they will say, “We did this ourselves.”

That reminds me: Whatever happened to that little douche-nozzle Tuthmosis? He was all over Roosh's d**k for a time, but he was a gifted writer. Unfortunately, he was also on a major power trip after he became Roosh's mod, and just posting in the same thread as him could get you insta-banned if he disagreed with anything in your post. Including grammar! It's a shame such talent was wasted on such an inferior temperament. Almost as if he was gay, that's how pissy he was. Anyway, one day he just disappeared into thin air. Anyone know why?

Its totally possible that Roosh is playing the God game here to get access to those hot religious-type girls. I've seen that game played where the biggest Chads go into college, feign a religious conversation to religious types looking save souls, and end up with a devoted, hot, uber-Christian type girl. I wouldn't buy the religious conversion portion for a second. It's all about pussy.

I knew a dude that went full mormon for a chick. It's the just a different kind of beta game. (she dumped his ass after he finished converting)

If you're gonna play beta game, you better have the betabuxx. I wonder if Roosh has that, or if he's pretty penniless. I assume he's in the DC area for a reason (e.g. because his mom has a basement she's not using).

He said in his interview with Donovan Sharpe today that he doesn't have a girl he's talking to right now, and that he's living like a monk.
